Hi friends. My name is Ms. Que.
I am a recovering teacher. I LOVE ALL of my students! I hated the politics of the public school system but… I digress.
I taught math and science in the public school system for 5 years. I have taught grades 3 - 12, and tutored for College Algebra. I initially began my teaching career teaching science. From there I began to help my neighbor teacher with math support and the rest is history. I still love both Math and Science equally because of their undeniable connection to one another.
Currently I work in Quality Assurance for a pharmaceutical company. I tutor part-time virtually for Math and Science. Oh and Im a Full Time Mom. I teach by connecting real world applications to the Math and Science. I also love to help parents supplement students public school education at home.
In my career circles it’s very rare to see another face that looks like me. I see black men on occasion (non American) or I see woman of color, rarely a scientist. I represent all of the Black STEM kids that were discouraged from STEM but stuck with it anyway. STEM is not “hard” it’s actually really fun and fascinating when you have the right foundation.
My ultimate goal is to encourage more students of color to pursue careers or entrepreneurship in S.T.E.M. 🖤🧮🧫
